The Muncie Housing Authority is thrilled to announce its recent acquisition of the Millennium Place developments from Flaherty & Collins. This significant expansion includes Millennium Place I, II, III, IV, Howard Square Apartments, and the Muncie Home Ownership (MHO) properties.
Transition and Expansion
Completed on January 1, 2025, this acquisition adds 200 affordable housing units to the MHA portfolio. Among these are 62 public housing residences. Restoring units for single-family households has become an advanced priority. Currently, MHA offers one-bedroom units at the Gillespie Towers community, primarily for elderly and disabled residents. The acquisition of Millennium Place introduces an additional 18 one-bedroom, single-family homes. This is particularly impactful as a response to the loss of such units during the HOPE VI project in 2002, which led to the demolition of Munsyana Homes and Parkview Apartments.
Bedrock Property Management has been entrusted with overseeing these properties. Under the leadership of CEO Jason Race and COO Macy Kuhl, the transition from the previous owner to MHA was seamless. Bedrock has brought in experienced staff and maintenance teams to not only restore the quality of the homes but also to enhance customer service for residents.
CEO’s Vision and Commitment
This acquisition marks a significant milestone for MHA, with promising developments for the future of affordable housing in Muncie. The dedication and hard work of all involved parties underscore the ongoing commitment to improving living conditions and expanding housing opportunities.
Curtisa Goodwin, CEO of the Muncie Housing Authority, expressed her allegiance by stating:
“This acquisition was a lengthy process. Despite facing potential challenges, we knew moving forward was in the best interest of our residents. The Board, staff, and I worked tirelessly with MHA attorneys, financial advisors, and external companies to assess the property’s conditions, finances, and resident concerns, ensuring we could support the acquisition. Although the process came with a few surprises and challenges, we are excited about what lies ahead.”

The mission of the Muncie Housing Authority is to provide quality choices of affordable housing and to foster self-sufficiency and homeownership.
